Kitchen with a Vaulted Limestone Ceiling and Thick Slab Island
This kitchen uses limestone on almost every surface the eye meets. Overhead, a barrel vault is lined in narrow limestone strips laid in running courses, their grey, cream and rust tones lit from a concealed cove along each side. Below it, the island is topped with thick limestone slabs whose rough, chiselled edges and textured surface read as solid stone. A carved limestone range hood on scrolled corbels, with a foliate frieze panel, stands over a herringbone limestone backsplash, and pale slabs pave the floor. Few rooms in the gallery show so many applications together. Suited to show kitchens, family kitchens and open plan cooking spaces.
