Limestone Clad Entry Portico with an Arched Door Surround
This front entry is built as a small gabled portico clad entirely in limestone, with squared blocks of cream, blush and honey laid in random courses beneath a terracotta tile roof. The arched door surround is the focus: broad jamb stones on moulded bases rise to simple capitals, and a heavy arch with a carved scroll keystone frames a pair of carved timber doors. Two curved limestone steps with rounded nosings lead up from a walk of pale stone pavers. The stone surface is pitted and open textured, giving the entrance an aged character. Suited to front entrances, porticos and the approach to traditional homes.
