Wine Cellar and Tasting Room on Limestone Floor Slabs
Large limestone slabs pave this wine cellar and tasting room, laid in an irregular pattern of sand, honey and soft grey with worn faces and rounded edges. Above, a barrel vault is built from rough rubble stone in warm cream tones, lit from below so every course throws a shadow. A frameless glass wall separates the tasting table from the racks without interrupting the vault or the floor, which run through as one continuous space. Old clay jars and timber chests suit the aged character of the stone. Suited to wine cellars, tasting rooms, lower levels and entertaining spaces below the main house.
