Lower Level Hall with Worn Limestone Slabs and a Stone Stair
Large limestone floor slabs, irregular in size and visibly worn, pave this lower level hall from the foot of the stair to a glazed room at the far end. Their colour moves between warm sand, ochre and soft grey, with darker patches and open texture that give the floor a strong sense of age. To the left, a curved stair rises on solid stone treads, their thick, blocky profiles stepping up beside a slim metal rail. Whitewashed walls, arched openings and a heavy timber ceiling keep the setting simple, so the stone carries the room. Suited to lower levels, cellar halls, galleries and stair halls in country houses.
